Aerva Powers Xconomy’s Battle of the Tech Bands 3

Middle East Restaurant & Nightclub, 472 Massachusetts Ave., Cambridge

For the third year in a row, Aerva is an event sponsor of the Xconomy Battle of the Tech Bands. Net ticket proceeds will be donated to Science Club for Girls and Year Up Boston. This is the tech networking event that really rocks. Musicians from New England’s most innovative companies take on their Seattle competition—you pick the winners with Aerva’s SMS polling technology. Send in your votes with your mobile phone and see the results on the digital displays as they come in. Other Aerva technologies will be featured, including Pic2Screen and AerChat, letting you send in photos and text messages during the event.

Kodak’s Picture-to-Screen Application at Times Square, powered by Aerva


Kodak’s “Smile Gallery” at Times Square, New York, powered by Aerva’s Pic2Screen application, allows people to email their pictures and have it show up on the huge digital display. This is part of Kodak’s year-long “It’s time to Smile” campaign which was launched in summer of 2009.

It’s Time to Smile

According to Tom Hoehn, Director, Brand Communications and New Media at Kodak, “The recently upgraded huge digital display on the 50-yard line of the Crossroads of the World is now networked. The cool part about it is that you control when it shows up.” See Tom’s blog.

Aerva’s Pic2Screen application accepts pictures via email to kodak@aerva.com with optional captions on the “Subject:” line. Users get immediate acknowledgement of their image along with disclaimers about use of the picture on the display and criteria for acceptance. Kodak team uses Aerva’s Photo Moderation web application, which allows batch acceptance, rejection of images for high throughput, especially at busy times like New Year’s eve at Times Square. Multiple moderators from across the globe can help moderate the images. The Photo Moderation tool also allows Kodak to remove or edit captions for appropriateness, length, etc.

Philip Guarascio Joins the Board of Interactive Digital Signage Company, Aerva, Inc

Cambridge, MA—Philip Guarascio joined the Board of Aerva, Inc., a leading provider of digital signage technology. Phil has extensive board experience as he currently serves as the Chairman of the Board of Arbitron, Inc. (ARB, NYSE) a media information and marketing company for audience data of radio and digital out-of-home. Additionally, Mr. Guarascio is a Board member for Papa John’s International Inc. (PZZA, NASDAQ), the country’s third largest pizza delivery chain. He is also a Board member and former non-executive Chairman of Adspace Networks, Inc., a leading digital media company with screens in the largest shopping malls in the top ten markets.

Yahoo Chooses Aerva Technology for Los Angeles Event

Los Angeles, CA - Yahoo held a Yahoo! event featuring Aerva’s technologies to help launch their re-branding campaign to top-tier customers in the Los Angeles area. Guests enjoyed the evening with hi-def LCD screens and a large outdoor projection that showcased Yahoo’s latest video promotions, Flickr widgets displaying images from the event photographer, and SMS text-to-screen contests; all running off of Aerva’s AerChannel platform.

Aerva’s offering was the perfect technology to showcase real-time mobile and social networking interactivity, interspersed with our custom Flash and other assets,” according to Pia Welch, Yahoo’s Event Marketing Mgr of the event. ViuOne Picks Aerva to Power Digital Signage in Shopping Malls


Mall-network launched for the Spanish-speaking community in Central America
San Salvador, El Salvador–  ViuOne has partnered with Aerva, a leading provider of digital signage software, to launch a network of digital displays in shopping malls across Central America. All screens are 63-inch Samsung plasma displays mounted vertically with videos from advertisers and sponsors, as well as content such as news and weather.  

Aerva’s flagship product for digital signage, AerWave, is a powerful software platform that allows the creation of customized, interactive display networks, all accessible via any web browser and connected to Aerva’s Cloud Computing infrastructure. Aerva at Advertising Week 2009

Aerva was honored to be chosen as the technology and media partner at 6th annual Advertising Week in New York City from September 21-25. Aerva provided the show with interactive content on displays in the New York Times Center, The Paley Center, Highline Ballroom for the Youtube-sponsored Battle-of-the-Ad-Bands and at Tribeca Cinema for the Facebook-sponsored Wrap Party.

The five day event is North America’s premier gathering of cutting edge advertising, media, and digital communications leaders. Aerva powered digital displays that provided simultaneous streams of social networking content from Twitter, Flickr, and RSS as well as mobile interactivity with mobile polling, picture-to-screen and text-to-screen applications to screens at various events.

Aerva helps power the launch of the Ogilvy Digital Lab NY

Aerva at OgilvyAerva and Ogilvy had a successful Outernet event in NYC during the launch of the Ogilvy Digital Labs with some of the most forward thinking and valuable new media service providers. Aerva was selected to be center stage during the entire event, demonstrating the latest in digital signage and mobile interactivity.

The media experts at Ogilvy presented the audience with topics such as Retail POS & Event Digital Marketing, On-the-Go Mobile Interaction & Internet Access, and Digital OOH Signage while Aerva’s powerful digital signage system displayed the latest Twitter messages, Text2Screen, Pic2Screen, and up to date poll results.
