Boston, MA - The GET Conference 2010 featured Aerva’s Poll2screen technology in a historic event where leaders and academics share insights about how personal genomes affect what people do. The conference held a series of intimate discussions on the role personal genomes play in understanding ancestry, family life, nutrition, and disease risk.
Aerva’s SMS polling technology allows people to send in their votes through mobile phones and see their results dynamically on digital displays. This technology enhanced people’s experience at the conference and allowed audience voting on the prize for the best idea that uses genome technology in improving human lives. The grand prize was a personal exome sequence and interpretation service from Knome, one of the other sponsors.
Speakers at the conference included genome pioneers and globally recognized leaders like Misha Angrist, George Church, Esther Dyson and award-winning science journalists Carl Zimmer and Robert Krulwich

Proceeds from the conference support PersonalGenomes.org, a charitable organization that serves as a leading global ambassador of emerging technologies and knowledge, developed to positively impact the health and wellbeing of humankind.
“It worked out very well and caused quite a stir (the vote being so close!) at the end of the conference. It invigorated everyone for a lively cocktail hour. Congrats on your technology and what you’re doing with it!”
